JAL SKY SCHOOL ENTERING 25th ANNIVERSARY

(HONG KONG, 2 November 2008) The Japan Airlines Sky School (Junket Flight) took off today to entertain 216 children as well as 86 honourable guests and staff on an hour trip flying high over the Hong Kong territory. For most of the young guests , it was their first experience of flying.

Aged between 7 and 12, 144 of the children were winners of an open lucky draw held on 2nd October. Among the rest of the 72 children , 43 came from the underprivileged group of seven charitable organizations namely the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Hong Chi Morning Hope School, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong Lutheran Church Bradbury for the Deaf Children School Caring Centre, Hong Kong Student Aid Society, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Group,Hope Worldwide Centre for Kids and the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council.







The B747-400 aircraft took off at 7:50 a.m. early in the autumn morning from the Chek Lap Kok Airport. During the flight, the children had a wonderful birds-eye view of the territory from 8,000 feet above sea level. Additionally, they were given the chance to experience the various facilities in the flight cabin.

This year, we cerebrate the 25th Anniversary of the JAL Sky School Program.
JAL has always had a keen involvement and fulfillment in Corporate Social Responsibility as a corporate citizen. We hope to continue this event forever said Masashi Fukuda, Regional Manager, Hong Kong, Macau & Southern China of Japan Airlines.

The JAL Sky School 2008 is co-organized by Leisure and Cultural Services Department and TVB, which features the event on its childrens program After School.
